Treating injuries or preventative maintenance can seem like a guessing game as to what treatment will work best. With options like cold, ceramic, massage, magnetic, laser, and microcurrent it’s understandable to be curious about them all. Ceramic therapy has a multitude of benefits and is useful in treating injuries as well as for preventative maintenance.
Ceramic Therapy: What Does It Do?
Ceramic therapy products work using “FIR”. “FIR” or Far Infrared Rays absorb, modify, and reflect body heat back into the body so it can penetrate deep into the body tissue. This expands blood vessels, increasing circulation to fuel muscles and repair injuries. This can ease pain and stiffness while also decreasing inflammation. This type of therapy can be used before, after, or during exercise so it offers a wider rang of applications than other therapy options. With Lux® the ceramic threads are woven in to the material, so the benefits will not wash out or degrade over time.
Some of the top benefits are:
It’s low maintenance
Speeds pre-performance warm up
Helps prevent injury
Keeps horse loose & limber between classes
Aids post-workout recovery
Speeds rehabilitation from injury
Reduces inflammation, soreness, & arthritic pain
Ceramic Therapy: What Kinds of Products are There?
Depending on what you are treating or what your horse’s problem areas are, you’ll need to find and use a different product than someone else at your barn or than what you use on another horse. Lux has products for western and english horses for riding as well as products for trailering or in stall use.
If you have a horse with swelling, arthritis, or stiffness in the lower leg and ankle one of our boots may work well. The Eventing/Jumping Boots offer impact protection while decreasing warm-up and cool down times. The neoprene liner helps keep the boots vented so your horse’s leg stays cool but with the benefits of ceramic therapy.
For trailering, horse shows, or regular stall using the Lycra Slicker Hood will soothe aching muscles in the head, neck, shoulder, and wither area. By relaxing those muscles, it also helps increase flexion and relieves tension for horses that are ridden afterwards. This is also a great option for horses that are tight through their poll.
If you don’t just have a horse in your life, but a dog too, Lux has you covered. The Mesh Dog Coat has all the same benefits the other Lux items do but for your smaller four legged companion. It’s a great option for arthritic dogs or dogs that are stiff in the colder months. You’ll also appreciate its natural calming effect on nervous dogs.
Lux also has saddle pads, horse sheets, and wraps available. For more information on Lux Ceramic Therapy® and the products available, click here.
